Woohoo we made it to Switzerland! My passport came through on the day of our flight. The passport agency supervisor was superb and über helpful. He jumped for joy when he shared with me that he could issue me a passport. I mirrored his actions and jumped for joy too! Ma and I headed to SFO. Gorgeous airport. Whenever I go there, I'm so impressed by the architecture and spaciousness. Reminds me of HK and London. Checked in and headed to the gate. Per usual, last ones on board. Why change now? ;) Plus, what's the rush? We were going to be sitting for over 8 hours.
We sat by a very nice Scotsman who educated us muchly about Scottish, Irish, English, and British history and matters. BA has pretty good food. Rode food coma into slumber and slept for most of flight. Ma and I arrived in London and spent a few hours there. Was great to be in beautiful Terminal 5! Quite new and rather gorgeous. Plus it had several of my favorites: Wagamama, Pret, WHSmith, Harrods, and more! Wow! Really took me back to my semester abroad.
Arrived in Zurich! Took train to Biel/Bienne. Train arrived two minutes prior to scheduled departure time. Left the station at exactly 9:10. Impressive. The Swiss live up to their repuation. :)
Dear family friend Mr. L picked us up from train station and took us to our BnB in Bienne Old Town. Tres jolie!
After that first night, we moved to R&M's apartment, which has quickly become our home away from home. We've had a chance to see many dear family friends that Ma and Pa got to know through Omega. It's been so incredible seeing them after so many years...some I haven't seen for 20+ years. Everyone has been exceedingly welcoming and kind. More on our adventures soon! Must sleep. It's 9:10PM. Pacific Time. ;P Bonne nuit!
