Still in the U.S.A.

Welcome to our blog! It's the "first day" of our trip as we were scheduled to leave this morning at 7AM. However, we are still in America. As a matter of fact, we're still at home in Oakland!  Due to issues with my passport, we probably won't be going until tomorrow, Thursday.  Calls to the National Passport Office: countless. Calls returned: 0. Hours spent at the SF Passport Agency: 5.  Morale: still high. :) We're optimistic that things will work so that we can go tomorrow.  And we're grateful that the agents in SF have been so helpful.  What an adventure.  :)  Mom has planned an awesome itinerary the involves seeing several dear family friends.  We're both so excited to reconnect with these friends and to share some mother-daughter time.

We fly into Zurich and then take a train to Bienne (near Bern) where we will spend a few days with friends. Papa Cheng shares many stories in his book Splitting the Second that include many of these friends.  We are so excited to return to the land of Omega, which has meant so much to Mama and Papa Cheng over the years. :)
